I was neutral of her during the common route since she could get annoying at times. I enjoyed the characterization of Ann's route and it really changed my opinion of her. Ann and Tina's route focused more on the Soul Reapers. Not to mention that I REALLY enjoyed how they took incest seriously.

Konami's route is unique as it was Konami who was getting love advice from Tina instead of Yuuma. Despite those problems I have with Yuuri's route, I still found it better than Mio's route since I liked a lot more things in her route than Mio's. They decided to bring in Hyberion who was pretty much pointless to the overall route, Hanako's scenes were a mixed bag for me, and the forced drama at the end basically did nothing to the overall route as it was resolved almost immediately. With all of those good things, Yuuri's route had just as many flaws. This along with the fact that I like Yuuri's character was setting up for a great route. I actually loved the portion of the route where she and Yuuma were handcuffed together, Yuuri not wanting to accept her feelings as she was rooting for Yuuma and Mio was good, and Yuuri's interactions with Yuuma were cute. Other than that, I enjoyed her route, but it was just good. Mio's route was good until they decided to add some drama that was SO forced, I couldn't believe the scene I just read through actually happened. Most of the time, the amount of time spent with the character was enough as their relationship grew. Eventually, they end up falling in love with each other. Overall, Yuuma was a good protagonist.Įach route focuses on a certain heroine and Yuuma as they spend more time with each other as the days go by. He also wants to help his friends and cares deeply for his loved ones. He also has a horrible smile and tends to be serious most of the time. However, given that he gives romantic advice, I think I can see why girls like him. Some moments in the VN, a character might tell Yuuma after he says or does something, "this is why you have a bounty on your head." Yuuma says that he was just being nice which is all I saw, so I didn't understand it. At some moments, I had no clue as to why so many girls were fawning over him. As for Hanako, I feel like she needs a route of her own. He only gets hit by something he said once, and that was from his attempts at improving how he talks to girls. However, they made me really like Sou in the end. Sou shocked me as I was thinking he was going to be another annoying best friend character to Yuuma that everyone would treat as a joke and he would get hurt a lot for the things that he said. My favorite heroines are Yuuri and Konami while my favorite side characters are Hanako and Sou. The side characters are good as well, but I felt some of them could have been given more to work with cough Miyu. They have good chemistry with each other, and their voice actors do a good job in the emotional moments. From the childhood friend with androphobia Mio that likes BL books to the hardworking, introverted Yuuri, the cast is good for this VN. With all of these events and more such as Ann's constant interest in Yuuma, him dealing with his HORRIBLE smile, and more, Yuuma's life just became anything but simple. While this all sounds like your typical high school romance VN with slice of life, Saku Saku adds some fantasy elements to the mix with the addition of shinigami or Soul Reapers that play a part in the story at some points. Eventually, he meets characters like the "Love Fairy" Tina who tries to convince him to find love constantly and the student council president Jinpou Ann who has an interest for Yuma once she meets him for the first time. The thing is, he isn't really interested in love. One day, trouble occurs as he is wanted with a "love bounty" of 21000 yen. In this school, our protagonist Asaba Yuuma is a guy that is popular with the girls as he gives them love advice at the school infirmary. This VN takes place in a lovely school called Mihaya Academy.

Eventually, I came back to it, started from the beginning, and finally finished. I did read up to a point in Mio's route a few years ago before stopping. It was a long journey from start to finish as I spent A LOT of time reading this VN. Koi ga Sakura Koro Sakura Doki's is the first VN developed by Palette that I read through.
